20MW Roof Mounting System Guangdong, China |Textile and Clothing Factory
May 06, 2026
1. Project Overview
•Project Background: This project is located in Guangdong Province, where Antaisolar provided a complete rooftop mounting solution for a 20MW distributed PV power plant. By utilizing the rooftops of large textile and garment manufacturing facilities within an industrial park, the project represents a typical case of green upgrading for industrial buildings in South China. It aims to power traditional energy-intensive textile production with clean electricity, reducing operational energy costs and carbon emissions while supporting the transition toward low-carbon manufacturing.
•Project Requirements: The system was installed on metal sheet rooftops of textile factories. The core requirement was to deliver a customized mounting solution capable of withstanding typhoon-prone coastal conditions, adapting to hot and humid environments, and enabling efficient construction with minimal disruption to ongoing production. Specifically, the solution needed to: (1) Meet a 0.5 kN/m² wind load requirement to ensure structural safety under typhoon conditions; (2) Use highly corrosion-resistant materials suitable for hot, humid, and rainy climates; (3) Simplify installation through standardized pre-assembly design to minimize impact on continuous factory operations.

2. Challenges
2.1 Wind Resistance Under Coastal Typhoon Conditions

•The project located in the Pearl River Delta coastal region, frequently experiences typhoons. The project required compliance with a 0.5 kN/m² wind load, demanding strong uplift resistance and secure connections between modules and rooftops. This posed strict requirements on clamps, rails, and overall structural stability.
2.2 Material Durability in Hot and Humid Environments
•The region’s year-round high temperature, humidity, and rainfall accelerate corrosion of metal components. The mounting system needed excellent corrosion resistance to ensure a design life exceeding 25 years without compromising structural integrity.
2.3 Construction Coordination Under Continuous Production
•Textile factories operate continuously with strict environmental and logistical requirements. Installation had to avoid interference with operations while completing large-scale rooftop deployment within limited time windows, requiring high system standardization and efficient on-site coordination.

3. Solution
Antaisolar delivered a customized metal roof mounting solution featuring a multi-row portrait layout optimized for coastal industrial environments and textile factory operations.
3.1 High Wind Resistance with Reinforced Clamp and Rail System
•50mm trapezoidal clamps were used to securely grip the roof ribs through mechanical fastening, enabling non-penetrative installation while ensuring strong pull-out resistance.
•The main structure adopts 1.2mm-thick H-shaped aluminum rails, combined with 50mm mid and end clamps to form a stable support system. The entire structure was designed and validated based on 0.5 kN/m² wind load, ensuring safety under typhoon conditions.
3.2 Corrosion-Resistant Materials for Harsh Climate
•Core components are made from AL6006-T6 high-strength aluminum alloy, offering excellent corrosion resistance against prolonged exposure to heat, humidity, and rainfall.
•The lightweight nature of aluminum also reduces additional roof load, helping protect the structural integrity of the factory buildings.
3.3 Standardized Pre-Assembly for Fast, Low-Impact Installation
•The system adopts a modular pre-assembly design, with key connection components pre-installed in the factory, significantly reducing on-site workload and installation time.
•Detailed installation guidelines and technical support enable multi-team, multi-roof parallel construction, ensuring efficient deployment with minimal disruption to factory operations while controlling labor costs and project duration.

4. Results
•Successful Commissioning and Stable Operation: The 20MW rooftop distributed PV project has been successfully completed and is operating reliably. The mounting solution provided by antaisolar, featuring strong wind resistance, excellent corrosion durability, and fast installation, is well-suited to the coastal environment and textile factory conditions.
•Significant Economic and Environmental Benefits: Operating under a self-consumption with surplus power export model, the project generates substantial clean electricity annually, significantly reducing electricity costs and carbon emissions for textile manufacturers. This project demonstrates a proven pathway for deploying distributed PV systems in high-humidity, high-wind regions. Its approach—combining corrosion-resistant material selection, high-strength structural design, and efficient construction management—provides a scalable and replicable solution for the green transformation of traditional manufacturing industries.
